[ The PureAir Company ]

In February 1978, PureAir President, Timmy Lott, and his father and partner, T. W. Lott, Jr., saw an opportunity to buy an expanding business in Greenwood, Mississippi. In 1995, Timmy Lott brought in another partner to help grow the business, his younger brother, Jimmy. "My dad and I felt that we needed to expand our management team if we were going to continue to grow," Timmy said. Jimmy's experience in the financial arena has helped Pure Air with numerous growing pains.

Pure Air has since grown to include offices throughout the United States. By positioning our service technicians strategically throughout the US, PureAir can deliver the level of service you require. "We didn't choose to cover such a large area -- it just seemed to happen", said Timmy Lott, PureAir President. "We never have refused to service an account. Since PureAir was sending service technicians in several states, we thought it was best to acquire other companies in these states so we could increase their customer base in those areas. Much of PureAir's growth has come from acquisitions of other companies. We've tried to expand with companies that fit our style of management."

Pure Air, originally strictly a service company, has expanded into the direct sales market. PureAir has hired salesmen with the knowledge and training to give the customer what they need, instead of only what lines they offer. The relationship PureAir has with its suppliers has helped fuel its growth. "Our suppliers back us not only because we move product, but because we add value to the sell," said Jimmy Lott. "We don't just change filters, we evaluate [ CAFS ] what product is needed, and we supply the product, place it in service, and evaluate its performance." PureAir has trained technicians, many of which have been certified by the National Air Filtration Association (NAFA) as Certified Air Filter Specialists (CAFS), and their responsibilities include not only the filter aspect of the service, but also visual checks of the units to ensure that we report any noticeable problems to management.

PureAir has established a good working relationship with numerous mechanical contractors, and receives a large volume of subcontract filter business from them. Timmy Lott believes that the two tend to complement one another, and it makes it possible for both companies to give the customer the best service for their money.

For PureAir, the family philosophy has groomed quite a workforce. The Lott's feel that they have been fortunate to have so many associates find a home at PureAir. And with the movement of PureAir in different directions, it has given the technicians the opportunity to make changes in their responsibilities without leaving the company. They constantly review their team to determine if an individual's attributes would be better placed in a sales or branch management position. PureAir believes that the future of the Air Filtration Industry is advancing so rapidly that education will continue to be the key factor. That's why PureAir has dedicated itself to training and educating it's management and technicians about Indoor Air Quality issues. PureAir believes that if it's team is trained in these issues and remedies then they will be better business partners with their customers.

    [ Code of Ethics ]
    The Preamble
This Code of Ethics signifies voluntary recognition by members of the National Air Filtration Association of the responsibilities and obligations of professional self-discipline above and beyond the requirements of law.

The purpose of the code is to inform the public that NAFA members intend to maintain a high level of ethical behavior and professional performance. In return for the faith and trust the public places in them, members accept the responsibility and obligation to conduct their business practices in a way that will be beneficial to the public. This Code of Ethics gives our customers a basis for believing that members will do their best to perform their services with high standards of competence and integrity.

The code expresses the standards of professional conduct expected from a member firm and their employees in their relationship with clients, colleagues, members of allied trades, and the general public. The code is mandatory in character and serves as a basis for disciplinary action when the conduct of a member firm falls below the required standards as stated in the code.

    NAFA Code of Ethics
The importance of air filtration systems to the health of clients and the efficiency of their HVAC systems imposes on members an obligation to maintain high standards of integrity and competence. NAFA members desire to establish the recognition of the air filter profession as one of honor and respect from consumers, government bodies, the insurance industry, the HVAC industry, the medical community and the general public. The NAFA Ethics Committee insures that this goal is achieved by formulating and monitoring the Code of Ethics.

In recognition of their obligation to the public and the profession, NAFA members have agreed to comply with the following articles:

    1. We will at all times serve our clients with integrity, competence, and objectivity.
    2. We will be honest, accurate, and forthright in our advertising.

    8. We will be fair in our dealings with our clients and charge reasonable fees commensurate with the nature of products and services provided.
    9. We will be accessible to customer inquiries, comments, or complaints on a completed service, and will be willing to reach mutually acceptable terms under which any complaints can and will be addressed.
    10. We will review the work of another member only if requested by the client but shall notify the member of the fact that we have been asked to conduct such a review.
